HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE                                                                                                            April 11 , 2007

Did everyone have a good little egg hunt? My friend Camilla invited me over for brunch and since she loves to cook, there was way more food than a human being can ever take. And then a family friend invited me over for dinner.....how could I be so rude to refuse! So basically I had a Brazilian brunch and a Persian dinner.....and right now I'm on an American diet....which consists of not eating at all. Ok maybe I'm not on that diet but it's already Tuesday and I'm still full.

I hate having to give you my injury reports but since they're pretty crucial in my career, it's better that I do. My biggest thing right now is this nagging shoulder thing I've had since the beginning of the year. I was pretty much in denial to take an MRI for the last month, but after taking a week off after Miami, and coming back to practice and still feeling it, I had no other choice. The report came out to say that I have abnormality in the tendon and bursa, which in human language translates to tendonitis, which in PG language translates as inflammation. Good news is that nothing is torn, bad news is that tendonitis takes time to heal, and no one really knows how long that will take. So this afternoon I had to get a cortisone shot.....I hate needles and this one wasn't fun!! I can't play for the next ten days which is not exactly great news but if I didn't get the shot I wouldn't be able to play for 4-6 weeks....which would be a disaster. Meanwhile there's lot's of work to be done off the court and lots of therapy as well. And it's also a good time to get some fun out of the way....like my birthday that's coming up.....no big deal just a BIG BOLD 20!!!! I can't believe it! I know in the States 21 is really the big one....you can drink, go to clubs, etc, but 20 means that I am no longer a teenager!! Which gives me a great excuse to get all those teenage habits out of my system in the next week!!

I managed to do a lot of productive things in the week after Miami.......first of all I finished Chemistry....all I can say is that there's no way I'm taking any more extra classes....I have never called someone so fast to tell them to send me my degree. Don't get me wrong I loved reading about ionic bonding but not quite sure I'll be using that term in the near future. Or actually any future!!

I had a 2-day 'make every shot a powershot' Canon commercial shoot, which is going to be really cute  and I think is the best Canon commercial yet, the creative is amazing, I want to tell you everything so bad but I promised Canon I would keep it a secret, you guys are going to love it!!! The commercial will be out during the French Open.

I had an amazing Nike design meeting. I actually can't even call it a meeting cause it's so fun. We basically sit around on couches, with magazines and architectural books piled up on the floor and brainstorm ideas. The coolest thing about Nike is that there is always a story behind everything they do or create. And it's all down to little details, on every single piece of clothing. Our goal for that meeting was this year's US Open.....after last year's dress there's a lot of pressure on creating something even more amazing, which is not an easy mission at all! BUT we came up with some exciting design plans and I am going to see the first samples in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!! Problem is, I'm very picky so we usually go through 3 samples before I'm completely happy with everything.

I also got to take this amazing dance class that a friend of mine was raving about. I love to dance, and love it even more when the instructor is super hot, and I get to watch him dance in front of me for a whole hour. At the end of the class he told everyone to walk around the room until their heart rate went down......I told him the only way my heart rate was going down, is if he left that room.. I don't think he completely understood me but who cares, not many do anyways.

Also working with UNDP on the field trip I want to take to one of the Chernobyl affected areas.... right now it looks like it is going to be in Gomel, Belarus. Can't wait for that....haven't been there since I was a little girl. Not that I'm big now, just a bit bigger.

Well sorry for the late update, but I didn't really know what to write about until we figured out what we were going to do with the shoulder. So while I go ice this arm/twig of mine, please hit a few extra balls in my honor. And if you don't play tennis get down and do some push-ups.....can't hurt ya!!! I will report back in a week for a little update.
